Kingdom Music Citizens are a group of passionate young musicians who bring a fresh and energetic sound to the music scene. The band is fueled by a love for jazz, gospel, reggae and a commitment to creating memorable experiences for their audiences. With a blend of youthful enthusiasm, craftsmanship and creativity, the group showcases pure talent. This dynamic group of first generation African children by musician and mentor Eric Ofei takes you on a cultural journey from the shore of Motherland Africa, through the Caribbean and beyond. Through his skillful instruction, band members have quickly gained recognition for their captivating performances at various community events. They have carved a niche for producing inspiring melodies laced with percussion that communicates faith in Jesus. The band draws its eclectic repertoire from both classic and contemporary sounds, and puts out a customized flavor. Expect the sound of booming drums, cradled by the groovy bass guitar, rich keyboard strikes, soulful lyrics and passionate vocals at each performance. Their joyful energy, rich harmonies and authentic musical fusions are a testament to the beauty of diverse traditions coming together in harmony. Through music, Kingdom Music Citizens spread God’s love, instill hope and provide inspiration that transcends age, racial and cultural barriers. . Meet the Director
ERIC OFEI
Eric Ofei is a highly accomplished Music Director, Composer, and Producer with over 25 years of experience in the music industry. As the Founder and CEO of Kingdom Music Citizens, Eric has dedicated his career to sharing his passion for music through teaching and performing. Eric's musical journey began at a young age, touring Europe with the John Teye Memorial Institute school band from Ghana, West Africa, in the late 90s and early 2000s. His talent and dedication caught the attention of the prestigious Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he had the opportunity to perform. Since then, Eric has gone on to teach at the School of Rock and create an afro-jazz team at Capitol Hill Day in Washington D.C. One of Eric's greatest accomplishments has been his work with youth bands, where he has taken students with little to no music foundation and helped them thrive as musicians. Under his guidance, these bands have performed at various prestigious venues, including the US Capitol on the National Day of Prayer. Eric has toured the United States with these youth bands, demonstrating his commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians. With a wealth of experience and a remarkable ability to play and teach any instrument to students of all ages and skill levels, Eric Ofei is an exceptional music professional. His passion and expertise have made a lasting impact on countless students and audiences alike.
